In its return to the retail scene, Big Lots is ready for a final phase of store reopenings under new ownership, with 78 locations set to resume operation on June 5.
The June 5 Big Lots reopenings will occur in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
The latest phase of the reopening campaign will bring the total number of Variety-operated Big Lots stores to 219. A phased reopening strategy that began in April has been met with an overwhelmingly positive customer response, Variety asserted. Variety plans a grand-reopening event at all 219 of its Big Lots locations this fall.
“The connection with the communities we serve, and the positive customer feedback has been more than we could have imagined,” said Lisa Seigies, Variety Wholesalers president and CEO. “This enthusiastic response reinforces our belief that taking Big Lots back to the roots of what made it a huge success resonates with our customers. Providing great value will always be our core mission.”
