Target Corp. is rolling out 10,000 new items for the summer months, including thousands of exclusives, in stores and online starting immediately and continuing through August.
Target is emphasizing both style and substance in curating the upcoming summer presentation. In style terms, the company plans to promote Coastal Living, a collection inspired by life on the water with an assortment featuring rustic details and sea life prints and patterns in neutral hues and sun-faded colors. In addition, the company pointed out, Target will showcase Red, White and Blue as a modern, playful twist on classic summertime items, as well as Al Fresco, a look inspired by the best of what the season has to offer: travel, sunshine and time outdoors with loved ones.
In terms of product categories, Target noted that it plans to spotlight:
- Home and Entertaining. A presentation including mix and match dinnerware, natural serving pieces and patterned table offering consumers, among other items, a figural crab serving platter, fish-shaped salad serving utensils (pictured above), a rattan woven fish basket and patterned shell plates. Craft, cottage, and kitsch-inspired pieces based on classic American summer food, including candles, decor, and kitchen items such as a burger throw pillow, butter and corn shaker set and hot dog-shaped candle.
- Apparel and Accessories. Products featuring textured and lightweight fabrics, such as crochet dresses and totes, linen skirts and versatile summer neutrals to mix and match, as well as family outfits in red, white and blue with stripes, stars and gingham. In addition, vacation-ready swimwear will incorporate vibrant prints, patterns and colors from Wild Fable, recently relaunched Shade & Shore and a new limited-edition 45-piece swim and beachwear assortment created exclusively for Target by sustainable swim brand, Vitamin A, complemented by breezy accessories and footwear.
- Food and Drink. A red, white and blue themed assortment of sweets and snacks from Favorite Day, including an indulgent snack mix, cotton candy cake, whipped dairy topping and ice cream sandwiches. Shoppers also will find trending grilling items and seasonal flavors, such as Bachan’s Sweet Pineapple Japanese BBQ sauce, sweet and savory snacks from Favorite Day, peach cobbler ice cream and dill pickle pretzels, as well as new beverage flavors, including Good & Gather Summer Sangria and Limoncello sparkling water.
Target will run discounts throughout the summer-oriented product assortment to raise the profile of the company’s seasonal initiatives. It will also host Hello Summer Saturdays events every Saturday in June at all stores, including free charm and keychain giveaways for Target Circle members and special summer-themed displays.
