Posted In: Retail Articles

Williams-Sonoma has promoted Jeff Howie to CFO after his predecessor left the company for Expedia.

Before his promotion, Howie served as Williams-Sonoma executive vp, chief administrative officer overseeing finance, inventory and outlets across the Pottery Barn brands, the company noted, as well as real estate, store development, corporate facilities and business-to-business for all of Williams-Sonoma.

Former Williams-Sonoma CFO Julie Whalen accepted the chief financial officer post at Expedia Group, that company noted. Now executive vp and CFO, she has been a member of the Expedia board of directors and audit committee since June 2019, and chair of its audit committee since June 2020.

“Jeff Howie has been instrumental in orchestrating the success of several of our key business initiatives over the years,” said Williams-Sonoma president and CEO, Laura Alber, in announcing the executive changes. “Jeff’s financial acumen, institutional knowledge, operational expertise and foundational contributions to our growth initiatives make him uniquely qualified to become WSI’s next CFO.”
