Home Depot president and CEO Ted Decker is taking a medical leave of absence and Ann-Marie Campbell, senior executive vice president, and Richard McPhail, executive vice president and CFO, will share his executive responsibilities until he returns.
Campbell will oversee Home Depot day-to-day operations and McPhail, EVP and CFO, will supervise financial management and Pro subsidiaries, the company noted. In his role as independent lead director, Greg Brenneman has assumed Decker’s duties as board chair for the duration of his absence.
Home Depot expects Decker to return within the next few months, the company pointed out.
“The Home Depot has the best management team in retail,” said Brenneman, in announcing the leadership changes. “Both Ann-Marie and Richard are strong, seasoned executives who have worked together for more than 20 years. We are confident in Ann-Marie’s and Richard’s ability to lead the company during this time, and we look forward to Ted’s return.”
