Dollar General has announced executive promotions and appointments across store operations, information technology, DG Media Network and merchandising, adding to its leadership roster.
The company has, it stated:
- Promoted Tod Boyster to senior vice president, store operations. He will lead retail operations for more than 9,000 Dollar General’s store locations, primarily in the western United States. Boyster joined DG as a store manager candidate and has since held roles of increasing responsibility in operations and sales, most recently as divisional vice president of store operations, overseeing retail locations in the midwestern and southeastern United States.
- Promoted Tom Ratz to senior vice president, technology and chief information security officer. In his new role, Ratz will continue to drive innovation across DG’s technology platforms, maintaining oversight of information security while assuming responsibility for overall information technology quality assurance and the company’s disaster recovery program. He joined DG as an IT security manager and has assumed advancing leadership roles, most recently serving as vice president, chief information officer.
- Promoted Daniel Blaich to vice president, store operations. He will supervise the development and implementation of retail compliance, which includes supporting asset protection, store processes and field communications. Blaich joined Dollar General in 2017 as director, reporting and analytics, in-store operations, most recently serving as director, store operations.
- Promoted Lydia Thacher to vice president, digital commerce, leading DG’s transformation efforts to drive growth through online channels and technology innovation. After joining DG in 2020 as a senior buyer, she has held roles of increasing responsibility as director, digital and site merchandising, and most recently, senior director, digital merchandising and commerce.
- Austin Leonard has joined the company as vice president and general manager of DG Media Network. He will leverage his 20 years of advertising and media experience, including stints at Publicis/Epsilon, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Rakuten and eBay, to oversee the go-to-market strategy, media operations, insights, media sales and performance measurement, according to the company.
- Adam Elder has joined the company as division vice president, store operations, overseeing more than 2,300 DG locations across the Midwest and Southcentral regions. He holds more than two decades of retail and sales leadership experience from consumer packaged goods, consulting and retail organizations, Dollar General pointed out.
