Data analytics company Euromonitor has unveiled its top “Global Consumer Trends for 2026” in an annual report identifying four global trends that highlight shifts in consumer behavior.

“The future of consumer behavior is characterized by a desire for comfort, self-expression and cutting-edge wellness solutions, driven by the need for authenticity and simplicity in an increasingly complex world,” said Alison Angus, head of innovation at Euromonitor International.

Euromonitor’s Global Trends in 2026 include:

  • Comfort Zone: 58% of consumers are experiencing moderate to extreme stress daily and are looking for comfort and simplicity, including products that offer emotional reassurance, like natural and wholesome ingredients. Businesses need to develop products and services that provide comfort, boost confidence, simplify life or promote balance, said the company.
  • Fiercely Unfiltered: Consumers are embracing self-expression and honesty. Half of consumers seek products and services that reflect their unique identity, and 65% feel society accepts who they truly are. Companies can focus on hyper-segmentation to develop targeted strategies that resonate with customer profiles or buyer personas, Euromonitor suggests.
  • Rewired Wellness: High-tech, medically validated wellness solutions are growing and consumers are willing to pay for premium products with scientific formulations. Some 49% of consumers would be willing to pay 10% or more for premium science-backed beauty products. Brands can use data-driven storytelling to demonstrate health benefits and educate consumers on product value.
  • Next Asian Wave: East Asian brands, particularly Chinese companies, are gaining global influence, combining affordability, innovation and digital-first experiences, with China’s projected export value to reach $4 trillion by 2026, Euromonitor reported. Businesses can optimize a mobile-first digital experience and design frictionless shopping journeys, blending content and commerce to remain competitive.
