The Container Store Group named former Bed Bath & Beyond executive Stacey Shively chief merchandising officer and promoted chief information officer Dhriti Saha to COO.

As chief merchant, Shively (pictured above) will lead the merchandising team and collaborate with the company’s cross-functional leadership team, reporting to CEO Satish Malhotra, Container Store stated. Shively also will play a key role in strategic initiatives including private label product growth, sustainability efforts and the expansion of the company’s Custom Spaces business.

Shively was senior vice president at Bed Bath and Beyond and head of merchandising and product development, Container store noted. Prior to that, she was senior vice president, general merchandise manager for JCPenney’s home division after a stint at Target, where she held roles in merchandising and planning with increasing responsibility.

As the new Container Store COO, Saha will continue supervising technology, information security, product management and retail operations, and will add logistics to his responsibilities, the company reported.

“(Shively) is a strategist with exceptional cross-category merchandising and product development experience, and brings a unique lens that will help us continue to drive our strategic priorities forward,” Malhotra said.  “Dhriti’s impact has been instrumental at The Container Store. He has not only begun to modernize our technology stack with improvements in-store and online but has also helped launch strategic initiatives including our new mobile app, loyalty program and in-store express checkout.”
