C2 Paint has named Pueblo its 2027 Color of the Year, a warm hue that moves between earth, rose and brown tones depending on the surrounding light, the company said.

Pueblo leads C2’s 2027 color story, “Rural Renaissance,” which reflects what the company sees as a shift from recent themes of quiet, retreat and renewal toward greater energy, creativity and engagement.

“We’ve all been in a period of restoration and renewal, so we asked ourselves: What comes next?” said Philippa Radon, interior designer and C2 paint color specialist. “We re-engage. We rediscover what inspires us, activates our senses and brings color back to our cheeks. There is something distinctly human about Pueblo. It refuses to be just one thing. There is an earthen quality, but also rose. Brown softened by warmth. In one light it feels muted and grounded; in another, its rosy undertones come forward. Morning, afternoon and evening each reveal something different. That complexity is what drew us to it.”

In the Rural Renaissance palette, Pueblo is joined by Death by Chocolate, Ambrosia and Element, three colors selected to complement the Color of the Year and create a layered palette:

  • Pueblo combines earth, rose and brown tones and is designed to bring warmth to cooler colors and softness to deeper shades.
  • Death by Chocolate is a deep brown inspired by cacao, coffee, dark wood and soil. Paired with Pueblo, C2 said it emphasizes the color’s rosy warmth.
  • Ambrosia is a pale, peach-toned hue designed to bring out Pueblo’s rose undertones.
  • Element is a mineral green inspired by stone, dried grasses, leaves and sun-bleached landscapes. C2 said the green provides contrast to Pueblo’s warmer tones.
