Home Products Int’l Manufacturing Equipment Set for Auction

Assets of Home Products International, including injection molding and ironing board manufacturing equipment, will be auctioned off this month.

Home Products International, which manufactured and marketed home storage, laundry care, plasticware and other housewares, closed last month after more than 70 years in business.

This webcast and online auction, managed by  PPL Group, will feature injection molding equipment from HPI’s Chicago facility and manufacturing equipment from HPI’s ironing board plant in Seymour, Ind.

Featured assets from the Chicago-based Injection molding plant include:

  • Injection molders and related support Equipment
  • Tool room equipment
  • Mobile plant equipment
  • Plant support equipment

Featured assets from the Seymour, Ind. ironing board plant include:

  • Tube mill and tube benders
  • OBI and straight side presses
  • Servo feeds
  • Straightener and uncoilers
  • Press brakes
  • Surface grinder
  • Shear, lathe and ironworker

“This assortment of late model injection molding equipment presents a great opportunity for any business that manufactures injected molded plastic products,” said Matt Gossett, vice president of Valuation, PPL Group. Gossett added other  equipment in the auction can be repurposed for other manufacturing or industrial uses.

The webcast auction from the Chicago plant will be held on Tuesday July 19, with bidding beginning at 10 a.m. CT  The webcast auction from the Seymour plant will be begin on Wednesday July 20 at 10 a.m. CT.  The online auction for both locations will begin at 10 a.m. CT on Thursday, July 14, and close at 10 am CT on Thursday July 21.
