Opinel is expanding its children’s assortment with Le Petit Gourmet, a three-piece cutlery set designed to support independent eating skills in young children.
The set, created for ages 10 months to approximately 3 to 5 years, includes a knife, fork and spoon sized and balanced for small hands. The utensils are intended to help develop fine motor skills while encouraging structured mealtime habits.
Le Petit Gourmet features PEFC-certified beechwood handles paired with European stainless steel, extending Opinel’s heritage craftsmanship into the juvenile category, the company noted.
Designed with safety in mind, the knife has a rounded tip and a dulled edge to allow children to practice cutting softer foods with supervision. The set features soft pastel accents and a recycled-plastic clip to keep the utensils together for storage or travel.
The BPA-free collection is positioned as a long-term-use product suitable for gifting occasions such as baby showers or first birthdays.
Suggested retail price is $50, and the set is currently available.
