Lina Hu, founder, chairman and CEO of Clipper Corporation, was named 2022 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for Greater Los Angeles.

Clipper Corp., based in Carson, Calif., develop and markets retail cookware and cutlery under such brands as Viking; and the company also markets cookware and apparel for the food service business.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year is a competitive business award for entrepreneurs of high-growth companies selected by an independent panel of judges. The panel selected Hu based on entrepreneurial spirit, purpose, growth and impact among other core contributions and attributes.

During the pandemic, Clipper pivoted to provide PPE products to meet customer needs. “Without the dedication and support of our customers, we don’t have Clipper,” Hu said. “And without our employees’ passion, loyalty and the care they put into serving our customers, we don’t have Clipper. Our employees have helped us realize our goals and allowed us to deliver on our unwavering commitment to bring our customers the most innovative and highest quality products at the best possible value. This has allowed us to continue to succeed.”

As a Greater Los Angeles award winner, Hu will be considered for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 National Overall Award winner which will be announced in November at the annual Strategic Growth Forum. The EY Entrepreneur of the Year National Overall Award winner will move on to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award in June 2023.
