Finamill offers a collection of handheld battery-powered spice mills capable of grinding beyond peppercorns, and, as was evident at The Inspired Home Show, bringing the freshly ground aroma and taste of whole spices to food regardless of shape, size and hardness, according to the company.
A multi-spice functionality is impossible in a conventional peppermill, the company asserted, so Finamills operate with specialized swappable pods that can grind virtually any whole spice stored in a pantry, from mustard seed to 5-centimeter long cinnamon sticks. One pod even grates hard cheeses such as parmesan. And distinct pods mean no flavor mixing. Each spice is in its own space.
Finamill offers one-handed operation. A purchaser uses one hand to lower the Finamill base over a pod and pushes it down to secure it in place. Push down again to release the pod. No more two-handed cranking. The refillable pods provide a green alternative to disposable, one-time use spice jars and shakers.
The powered, rechargeable mill is always ready for use, Finamill stated, as one charge via USB provides at least one month of normal use.
