Macy’s Chairman and CEO Tony Spring told company employees in a memo that the retailer’s “Bold New Chapter” strategy is producing business improvements, but he noted more store closings are necessary to move the company forward.

Google Cloud unveiled what it has dubbed “Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience (CX),” an agentic AI platform designed to bring shopping and customer service together on a single intelligent interface for retailers and restaurants. The development comes as retailers including Walmart, The Home Depot, Lowe’s Cos. and Kroger Co. announced AI alignments with Google. 

Bed Bath & Beyond executive chairman Marcus Lemonis announced in a letter to shareholders that he is assuming the role of CEO as he laid out a larger strategy for the company that includes financial and home-building ties, as well as the possible pursuit of acquisitions.
