Kirkland’s Adds Ryder Delivery To Support Furniture Expansion

Kirkland’s Home, as it expands its furniture operation, is partnering with Ryder System to launch an in-home delivery service that will also provide light assembly to customers across the United States, the retailer announced.

The nationwide program had its initial test launch in more than 25 major markets in June 2022, and Kirkland’s said it expects to complete the roll out across the lower 48 states by July’s end.

The flat-fee delivery program boosts the Kirkland’s Home omnichannel service offering and further enhances the online and in-store customer experience, the company maintained. To that end, it provides Kirkland’s customers with a new large item purchasing solution. The program can deal with not only delivery and light assembly but also packaging disposal for large home décor, outdoor items and indoor furniture products.

“Launching our new in-home delivery program through an industry-leading partner like Ryder is a pivotal milestone in the transformation of Kirkland’s Home,” said Kirkland’s Home President and CEO Steve “Woody” Woodward. “As we continue to evolve our merchandise mix into high-quality designs with a value-centric mindset, it was necessary to upgrade our logistics capabilities and make it easier for customers to enjoy our products. Utilizing Ryder’s proven platform, which manages in-home delivery for many of our peers in the home-furnishing space, gives us the utmost confidence that consumers will have a seamless and positive experience receiving furniture and bulky items directly to their homes. We believe that this program has the potential to expand our customer base and allows our offerings to be more competitive than ever before.”
